When you’re thinking about becoming a Glamour Model, it’s important to bear in mind the different types of Glamour modelling markets. Glamour Modelling ranges from soft porn (think Katie Price and Abi Titmuss) to the more revealing, top shelf magazines.

It’s a fact that magazines like Zoo and FHM have tons of girls beating down a path to their doors, all desperate to appear in their magazines. But not many girls know that if you are an amateur model, you probably won’t get paid to appear in these magazines. The majority of the amateur girls appear for free. This is both a good and a bad thing. Yes, you get free exposure in a national magazine and it’s great for your modelling CV, but you’re not going to make a living out of it. Building up a great, professional portfolio and getting a good agent is the best way to get regular paid work. On the other side of the coin, there is a lot of money to be made appearing in the more revealing top shelf magazines. If you don’t mind appearing nude and basically showing everything, then this is for you. If you are slightly more demure and have a limit of topless only, you’ll be better suited to posing for magazines like FHM and Maxim.

Whatever type of Glamour Modelling you decide to try, it’s always important to stay safe and trust your gut instincts. Professional Glamour Photographers will not mind you bringing along a chaperone (as long as it’s not a crazy, jealous boyfriend!). There are a lot of strange men out there looking to exploit naive young girls, so be careful and never feel pressurised into doing something you feel uncomfortable with.
